Black Friday 2009 LED HDTV Deals - 1080p
Send me email updates:
LED , the super thin TVs is gaining momentum and seems to be this years Black Friday hot selling items list. LED TVs are nothing but LCD + backlight instead of typical CCFL lighting. The real LED TVs are OLEDs (organic LEDs). OLEDs are very expensive with small screen sizes like 11" (Sony XEL-1 cost about $2000).
The LED deals that we see are actually LED LCD TVs. LEDs are two types - edge-lit LCD or Back-Lit LCDs.
In Edge-lit scenes that are darker makes the entire TV screen go dark.
The back-lit type is local dimming, which is supposed to result in a better picture. More expensive. Environment friendly as they don't have mercury.
Note: Click column heading once to reorder from highest to lowest. Click twice to reorder from lowest to highest.
