Why are newspapers and cricketing world blowing trumpets on South Africa winning first test match against Australia? It is because South Africa who had dominated the rest of cricketing world but failed consistently against Australia right from 1999 world cup semi final. This win is a long due in RSA account.

Besides RSA and Australia thing here are few other match specifics.

1) It is second highest run chase of 414 in Test history in second innings by any team. West Indies recorded the highest run chase with 418 runs against Australia in 2003.

2) Graeme Smith is one of only two batsmen to score three centuries in successful fourth-innings run-chases
